Pride Goeth

I’m too proud.

Proud of what I have done,

Proud of what I’ve become.

Pride in what I am going to be,

Pride in my family.

To those whom much is given

Fall the spoils, if they are driven

To create an empire great

Built by hand, no time to wait

And so I’ve pushed, and pushed too far

A supernova, not a shining star.

Like the Morningstar I fall,

Hubris has lost me all.

Too proud in all that I do

Except admit: I love you.
