The descent into Darkness,
Struggling through the fires of Hell,
Brimstone filling my senses
As demons surround me.
Lower and lower into the depths,
Agony leeching into my soul
As I watch the miserable wretches
Tormented and twisted,
Their sins reflected a million fold;
Breaking bodies and spirits
As I remember the Fall:
From the highest peak to the darkest
Dungeon, the pit of despair.
And yet in my heart still burns
The spark of Hope, of Love
And I will climb from the fiery lake
And drag the One with me
Whom I descended to find and save
From eternal damnation and pain,
Even if they fight me on the journey
Back into the Light, all dross
Burnt away to purity.
