Listen to You

You ask me to listen, but refuse to talk.

You want me to understand, but won’t open yourself

out of fear of vulnerability, of being hurt.

So I must observe and interpret

to try and understand your why,

to see as you do, the reasons and emotions

behind the perceptions and choices you make.

Odin sacrificed an eye for wisdom;

I would tear out my heart for love

and to be enough for your trust.
