Flip The Switch

Someone flipped the switch,

And shut off the lights.

Someone flipped the switch

And turned off the power,

Leaving me in darkness.

Someone flipped the switch

And now it is cold

As cold as the north of Canada.

Someone flipped the switch

To your heart

And I cry in the dark wondering why.

This poem is one of the most meaningful I have written for you, and the oldest. It summarizes my pain and confusion and loss when you go dark and run away in your rough patches.
