At The End

When the bright memories fade to grey

And all the gold loses its luster

Shadows gather at the end of day

And a smile is more than you can muster;

I will still love you.

When the light of your eyes begins to fade

As your hair has done over the years

And I face the dark unafraid

With cheeks wet from the dripping tears;

I will still love you.

Once I dreamt of us growing old

And walking into the dusk together

But your heart has grown cold

And we can not have forever.

Yet I still love you.

For you fled into an early night

And left me in this Hell alone

As you chased a new lover bright

My butterfly off has flown.

And I will always love you.
